Volunteer

This rescue runs on volunteer hours. Every one of them.

Beauties of the Beasts is 100% volunteer-run — no paid staff, no overhead. Every hour someone gives goes straight into keeping an animal alive, keeping a family together, or getting the next one home. There's a real, concrete way to help here, whether you have five hours a month or fifty.

Why It Matters

There is no staff. There is only us.

Every enclosure cleaned, every application reviewed, every reptile driven to a vet appointment — a volunteer did that. This isn't a mission-statement line: without volunteers, this rescue does not function. If you've been looking for a place where your time directly changes what happens to an animal, this is it.

Ways to Help

Real roles, not busywork.

We're a small, home-based rescue, so every role here is work we need done right now — not a task invented to make volunteers feel included.

01

Animal Care Support

Feeding, enclosure cleaning, and husbandry support during intake and quarantine. Hands-on experience with reptiles, working alongside us in our space.

02

Transport & Pickup

Driving a surrendered or adopted reptile between Yuma-area locations. Flexible, occasional, and one of the most immediately useful things a volunteer can do.

03

Application Review

Helping evaluate adoption applications for enclosure readiness and species fit. Good for someone with reptile-keeping experience who wants to help from home.

04

Supply & Donation Support

Organizing donated supplies, picking up feeder and habitat donations, and helping stock what the Human Sanctuary hands out to families in need.

05

Outreach & Social Media

Helping tell the story of the animals in our care — photos, captions, community posts. No reptile experience required, just consistency.

06

Bunch a Bull Bulldog Rescue

Foster and transport support specifically for our bulldog program. Visit the Bulldog Rescue page for details.

What to Expect

Honest about what we need from you.

Reliability matters more than experience. A volunteer who shows up when they say they will is worth more to us than someone with years of reptile-keeping knowledge who flakes on commitments.

Roles that involve direct animal handling start with a short orientation in our space — no formal certification required, just our protocols learned before you handle an animal unsupervised.

We're a small operation without a formal HR process. If something isn't working, for you or for us, we'll tell you directly — and we'd want the same from you.

Get Started

Tell us how you'd like to help.

Email us with your name, general availability, and which role from above interests you. We respond personally to every message, usually within a few days.

Can't volunteer your time right now? A donation still helps directly.
